Elizabeth H. Somers

Sunbury – Elizabeth H. Somers, 71, of Sunbury passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Philadelphia on November 23, 1954 to the late James and Kathryn (Baldwin) Harmer, Jr. She graduated from Mastbaum High School.

She married Anthony “Tony” Somers, who preceded her in death. Elizabeth worked as the quality control supervisor of a pharmaceutical company and retired in 2010.

Elizabeth is survived by two daughters, Brenda Derolf of Levittown, and Donna Somers and her wife, Stephanie of Sunbury; three grandsons, Zachary Derolf, Connor Derolf, and Michael Rubinstein; a granddaughter, Paige Sommerer and her husband, Rhett; a great granddaughter, Bexley Sommerer; two sisters, Barbara Anne Harmer and her husband, Russell Henry, and Jean Harmer and her husband, Frank Eberle; two sisters-in-law, Helen Ostertag, and Antoinette “Girlsey” Graber; two brothers-in-law, Vincent “Muck” Somers and his wife, Christine, and Stephen “Dink” Somers and his wife, Jane; and her beloved French Bulldog, Blue. In addition to her husband and parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pierce and Virginia (King) Somers; a sister, Alma “Kathy” Harmer and her husband, Bernard Stitcher; two brothers-in-law, Sam Somers and his wife, Barbara, and James Ostertag; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Jane Phillips and her husband, Donald.
